Story
Can you save the day?
For over 40 years Bliss has been there for babies needing neonatal care after being born premature or full-term but sick. In the last year, we have lost 40% of our expected income from fundraising events, at a time when need for our services more than doubled.
A recent survey conducted by Bliss found that more than 90% of parents were reporting that they felt more isolated in neonatal care because of the COVID-19 crisis. It continues to be a particularly anxious time for families with a baby born premature or sick.
We are calling on our supporters to take on sponsored superhero missions to help Bliss ensure that babies in neonatal care and their families know they are not alone.
How does your fundraising help?
Our Bliss Champion volunteers are providing a listening ear via our video call service for parents on the unit and family members who have to stay at home, separated from their baby.
Our email support line remains open and the number of enquiries to this service have increased significantly since the start of the pandemic.
We are keeping up to date with the latest evidence and guidance to provide parents with clear and comprehensive information about how changes to guidelines may affect their baby and their stay in neonatal care.
Bliss have been so important to my family. I got in touch as I worried about my wife during COVID-19. The work Bliss do is unbelievable, and the compassion shown has been overwhelming. - Stephen, Dad to Theo
