Story
Blackpool Polar Bears Multi Disability Swimming Club has been successful this year in getting three of its members through to the Special Olympics World Summer Games which will be held in June in Berlin.
Emma Inglis, Head Coach of Blackpool Polar Bears has been selected as the Head Coach for the GB Swimming team, Lynda Inglis, Chair of Blackpool Polar Bears has been selected as one of the additional Coaching team, and Charlotte Foster (28) has been selected to Swim for the GB swim team.
This is the first time Blackpool Polar Bears have been this successful and it is a great achievement for the club and its members.
Charlotte is one of only 6 swimmers who have been selected to represent Great Britain at this prestigious event. The Special Olympics World Summer Games will be held in Berlin from 17th 25th June 2023.
Prior to the games starting the Blackpool Trio will be getting together with the rest of the GB squad and will be taking part in a number of training weekends where they will get to know the rest of the squad and find out more about the main event in Berlin.
The team will be travelling from London to Germany on 11th June and will be then taking part in a Host Town programme learning about German culture, and attending other events as a whole team before the Opening Ceremony on the 17th June. The competition will then begin and they will all be taking part in supporting each other at the event and competing for their country. This is going to be a fantastic experience for all involved.
To get to the games we need to raise a lot of money to get the Blackpool Trio to Berlin so please donate any money you can to this fantastic cause.
