The lack of availability of legal aid, combined with the ongoing cost of living crisis, has led to a huge increase in the number of people unable to access legal advice when they need it.

With the invaluable help of volunteer lawyers and others, EGLAC provides advice on a wide range of legal issues. Clients in South East London receive free legal advice on matters such as family, housing, immigration and civil litigation. The difference this service can make to people with nowhere else to turn is summed up in this feedback from the mother of a client:

"When I called EGLAC I had little hope left, but from the first moment I spoke with them I knew these people were different.... What they were able to do for my son was life changing; what they did for me was restore my faith that there are still a few good people left in the world."
