Story
Join us this June for our ‘Bin-GO for it!’ fundraising event in support of Down Syndrome UK, a registered charity dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Throughout June, our community and supporters will be taking part in a variety of bingo-related activities to raise both money and awareness.
Our incredible online community PADS (Positive About Down Syndrome) offers essential support and information. Recognising the importance of accurate, up-to-date resources, we distribute our book, "#NobodyToldMe: The Truth About Down Syndrome," to all expectant and new parents. We also provide crucial literature and resources to maternity units, health professionals, and educational settings.
We offer online early development, speech and language, feeding, and physiotherapy groups for pre-schoolers. Makaton signing courses are available for new parents, grandparents, and educational settings, along with informative sessions on behaviour, wills & trusts, and toilet training through our Pants4School program. Our specialists cover various conditions such as nystagmus, Hirschsprung's disease, and dysphagia, ensuring comprehensive support for our community.
Our goal is to ensure that no family feels alone on this journey. Our new early education support includes resources for choosing a nursery, starting school, and navigating EHCP support.
"Before I found PADS, I felt so alone, had no one to talk to, no one who understood how I’ve been feeling."
“#NobodyToldMe from PADS was an absolute lifeline.”
At Down Syndrome UK, we believe every parent deserves the best possible care and support. We celebrate the arrival of every baby with Down syndrome and advocate for every child to have the opportunity to flourish and thrive. Thank you for joining us on this journey of empowerment and inclusion. Together, we are rewriting the story of Down syndrome, one impactful step at a time.
Each donation we receive helps to continue our vital work.
Thank you for your support!
