Helping Kids Prevent Brain Injuries? That’s using your head.
For Brain Injury Awareness Month, the team at Rochester Regional Health's Golisano Restorative Neurology and Rehabilitation is partnering with local organizations to collect new bike and skate helmets. All helmets will be distributed by The City of Rochester R-Centers and The Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Rochester to local children in need. Along with handing out helmets, we provide education on the best ways to prevent a brain injury at any age as well as team participation at community biking events.
Since 1989, one of our biggest missions of the RRH Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation team at Unity been to provide the Rochester Community with education on how to prevent brain injuries while providing top-tier rehabilitation after a brain injury occurs. Each year we treat over 90 brain-injury survivors through our CARF-accredited rehabilitation program. Part of our pledge to provide the best possible patient care is providing education on how to prevent a secondary brain injury while returning to enjoying life.
