Story
Take on the Cardinal Hume Centre Big Bed Down Challenge on Friday 26 March 2021. Whether you sleep on your sofa , lie on your lawn, bed down on your balcony, or camp in your kitchen - you will be helping the Cardinal Hume Centre prevent homelessness.
We are excited to launch our first virtual event and you can help make this our biggest challenge ever by asking your friends, colleagues, kids, partner or flatmates involved!
The Cardinal Hume Centre has been a life line for vulnerable people during the pandemic, remaining a home to 40+ young people who otherwise would be homeless, running safe play sessions for vulnerable families and homework support, providing emergency food vouchers for essentials and delivering expert advice to ensure families remain in their home.
We know one night does not compare the reality of the thousands of people sleeping rough, sofa surfing or in insecure accommodation. However, it does give you a small glimpse of of the challenges they face on a daily basis. We can not guarantee a comfortable or good night sleep but it will be meaningful: all the money you raise will allow us to continue our vital work to prevent all forms of homelessness.
There is not set target, but we encourage you to fundraise as much as possible and recommend target of £100 for under 18's and of £250 for adults.
