Story

This autumn, step into the wild (or just out of your door) and kickstart your big adventure with your Big Wild Walk.

Challenge yourself to explore the nature on your doorstep or expand your horizons by discovering the variety of our reserves around Leicestershire & Rutland. This challenge is completely up to you, from 16 to 29 October 2023.

Whether you want to take on one big hike or cycle, or take it at your own walking pace over the two weeks, the only competition is against yourself. And if you prefer to conquer step counts from the comfort of your living room, don’t worry because we’ll bring the wildlife to you!

Whatever you do, you’ll also experience the benefits to health and wellbeing that comes from connecting with nature.

To make the most of your fundraiser, let them know why you’re taking on your Big Wild Walk and how much wildlife means to you. Share your progress on social media and celebrate your accomplishments, as every step will protect the wildlife you love.

Your support will help our Wild About Our Reserves appeal, looking to ensure everyone throughout our counties can enjoy nature and wild places for years to come.
