Story

Have fun, be fit

One of the reasons that Bucks Girls Rugby Charity was set-up was to keep girls playing sport and keeping fit.

Only 8% of girls aged 11-12 meet the recommended guidelines for physical activity.

1.3 million girls who thought of themselves as sporty at primary school drop out of sport as teenagers.

63% of girls do not play sport outside of school.

We believe that rugby can help keep girls fit and have fun at the same time.

This fitness challenge has been set-up to help girls stay fit, increase their fitness for rugby and to raise some money for girls rugby in Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties.

We support all of the local rugby clubs through our league and we have helped a number of schools with equipment, coaching, playing opportunities and kit. A list of schools that we have support are below.

Choose your challenge

Option 1 - Plank Challenge: 90 Minutes of Plank

This amounts to 10 minutes of planks a week. You can do this however you want. You don't need to be able to do 10 minute planks, 20 x 30 second planks a week will get it done.

Option 2 - Run Challenge: 6 x 5KM runs (recorded)

You can do this on your own, or via Park Runs. Maybe do some Park Runs as a team?

Option 3 - Mix it Up Challenge: 3 x 5km runs and 50 minutes Plank

Can't choose? Why not do a bit of both?

Option 4 - Bucks PDG Challenge

For the girls in the Bucks PDG, why not fund raise around the Bucks PDG Training Plan?

About the charity

We aim to promote and grow girls Rugby throughout Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties. We will look to use Rugby to help girls become healthier and happier. We want to keep teenage girls involved in sport and regular fitness.
