GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on December 3, 2024. It is simple idea, and one that we're proud to be part of: a day that encourages people to do good.
When our founders created Building Goodness Foundation 25 years ago, they envisioned a future in which all communities have the buildings they need to thrive. Together with our dedicated teams of volunteers, sponsors, and partner organizations, we have strived to make this vision into reality.
Over 25 years, we have worked in seven countries around the world to build 8 medical clinics, 17 school buildings, 2 sanitation systems, 4 community centers, and over 1200 homes. And locally in Charlottesville, we are now completing up to 40 projects annually in support of healthy homes, vibrant nonprofits, and strong small businesses. In total, there are over 1 million people around the world who have received health services, education, a job, mentorship, counseling, food, or a safe space to live.
And the best part? We're not done yet.
This year, we have 38 projects completed and underway in Charlottesville, 4 school projects in Guatemala, and 5 homes and sanitation projects in Haiti. There continues to be so much opportunity for us to build goodness, to transform lives through structures that are generative, enduring, and built from a process of collaboration and partnership.
Donations to our GivingTuesday campaign will ensure that those in our communities in Central Virginia and around the world have access to the safe buildings that they need to thrive.
