Story
During this pandemic, the schools we partner with in Zambia closed and, in accordance with the government regulations, the feeding programmes stopped as well. Even though the schools were shut we continued to contribute to all staff salaries at our partner schools at this time as we are aware how desperate many of their home situations would be without this much needed income. We have also continued to mentor teachers during this time via video and WhatsApp.
However, with the absence of our regular UK school and business fundraising and the cancelled marathons and bike rides, we have an obvious gap in our budget to cover the school staff salaries. We are asking that you would partner with us to "bridge the gap'".
We know everyone's financial situation is different, but for those of you who have found that during this time you have saved money on your commute and after work socialising(!), we'd be very grateful if you would consider sending us a donation.
The quality of education at our school has really benefited from the experience and guidance of the Beyond Ourselves Zambia team. The level of support and mentorship weve received from them, over a period of years, has had a direct impact on the overall quality of learning taking place and for that we are so grateful.

I thought my remote location would make it impossible to be mentored through Beyond Ourselves, however I have been able to submit short videos of parts of my lessons via WhatsApp. The feedback I have received from Beyond Ourselves has been very constructive and has improved my effectiveness in teaching learners how to read and write independently.
