Story
Help us look after the Bassetlaw community by raising funds for our brand new Emergency Village.
Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity has launched the Bassetlaw Hospital Emergency Village Appeal with an ambitious target of £100,000 to provide the added extras that will make a real difference to our patients, their families and our community.
Bassetlaw Hospital sees thousands of people through our Emergency Department every year and the appeal focuses on a number of projects themed around ‘comfort’ and ‘play’. We have worked with colleagues across the Emergency Department, Children’s Assessment Unit and Assessment Treatment Centre which form part of the Emergency Village, to identify projects which seek to transform environments, exceed equipment expectations, and provide utmost comfort to our patients and staff so we can provide the best experience possible during uncertain times.
From the small things like brand new toys for paediatric waiting areas, to equipment for staff rest areas, to the bigger things such as distraction tools including specialist medical gaming carts and sensory light machines to a brand new outdoor play area, filled with sensory delights and wonderful toys to help our youngest patients ease anxiety whilst receiving treatment and heal through play.
To support the Bassetlaw Hospital Emergency Village Appeal and help us reach our target, you can donate here.
These additional projects will not be possible without the help of our community and with your support, we can create an emergency village which is the best it can be for those who need us, when they need it most.
