Alan "Stan" Bowley sadly passed away on 17th April 2011. To commemorate 10 years since his untimely passing the Stan Bowley Trust will be hosting the fundraiser "Best Foot Forward" . This will take place between 31st March 2021 until 17th April 2021.

We are looking for fundraisers who would like to join us on this epic quest. Anyone volunteering will be able to add their miles covered to help us towards our target of 7088 miles. Any distance you do that is not human propelled will count towards the overall campaign target, which includes things like, walking your dog, shopping, household tasks as well as walking, running, cycling, rowing and swimming.

The distance of 7088 miles is a challenge that we aim to complete in just 18 days, the same length of time Stan was receiving treatment in Washington. Why a target of £14,176, well "Stan" travelled to Washington with his wife.so two people between them travelled a total distance of £14,176 miles making it £1 for each mile. Put into perspective, that is approximately a third of what "Stan" had to pay for his treatment and that is why we strive to make it available for all that need it on the NHS.

Record your distances on the Stan Bowley website and make it a personal goal to get fitter, or just join in to raise funds for this live saving treatment, giving hope where there was previously none.

There will be a prize for two tickets to our prestigious ball, to be held at Alton towers on 20th November 2021, for the most novel way that someone travels at least 50 miles. in total, part of which must be unique. Photographic evidence will be required.
