Story
Experiencing the death of someone important can be confusing and very emotional. This is true for adults and children alike.
We know that having support to understand what's happening, and to help navigate the feelings and emotions that come along with grief is really important.
That's why we've developed our Bereavement Support Pack to give to children and young people following the death of someone important to them.
The packs are separated into three; pre-school, primary and secondary age groups. Each pack has similarities, but has been thought through to make it the most helpful for each age group.
We provide information about what to expect when someone has died, a book which helps children and young people understand what is happening and how to navigate their feelings and emotions, a mindfulness journal, a Buddy Bear which can provide comfort to grieving children and young people, and other information and activity recommendations.
Each pack costs around £35 to produce, and we are donating these free of charge to hospitals across Coventry and Warwickshire. With your help, we can make sure a pack is available in your local hospital when it’s next needed.
