Story
After Ben died, Shane and Sarah, Ben's parents, noticed a real lack of support for parents and families affected by the death of a child. They set up their charity to ensure that no bereaved families have to face life without their child alone. The Benjamin Pritchard Foundation - Be More Ben offers regular, informal opportunities for bereaved families to meet with others who understand what it is like when their child dies. They also provide ongoing counselling and complimentary therapies to support parents through their grief.
With no staff costs or overheads, every penny raised for Be More Ben goes directly into the support they provide. Parents have described Be More Ben as "exactly what has been missing" and "a lifeline at a time I really needed support". Following COVID-19, fundraising has become increasingly difficult even though the need for Be More Ben's support has increased dramatically.
With lockdown restrictions now gone, what better way to experience freedom than to get back to nature and climb some of the most breath-taking and beautiful mountains the UK has to offer. The Be More Ben Mountain Mission incorporates one gruelling full-days hike, covering 8 peaks in the stunning Lake District National Park.
Be More Ben has teamed up with Nick Stone Hill Skills, a Qualified Mountain Leader with years of experience hiking in the Lake District, to create a challenging and truly rewarding fundraising experience.
