Story

England cricket legend, Sir Ian Botham OBE, calls for support of diabetes research during "difficult times".

In Sir Ian's video made at his home, he asks the public to donate to DRWF so that we can continue our funding of diabetes research and provide day-to-day support to people with diabetes. A cause that is close to his heart...

Becky Botham, Sir Ian's Daughter, has type 1 diabetes and says:

Hi, I know this is an extremely difficult time for everyone, including those who have to self isolate. I am type 1 diabetic so I fully know how it feels. Take care and we can get through this. Lots of love to you all. Xxx

Our CEO Sarah Tutton says:

We are extremely fortunate to have Sir Ian and his family engage with our charity; helping us get lifesaving messages out to our supporters and those who live with diabetes as well as encouraging people to dig deep - enabling DRWF's commitment to fund diabetes research to continue."

As Sir Ian says, in these extremely challenging times we need our supporters now, more than we ever have - and we are truly grateful for your support.
