Bourne Evangelical Church (BEC) is a family of believers who seek to uphold Jesus’ central commands to “…love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind…and to love our neighbour as ourself.” (Matt. 22:37-39). That means we seek to live out our Christian walk in community.
The world around us is rapidly changing, but God's word (scripture, the bible) provides us with a sound and sure foundation for our daily lives, and the stability we all need. We are scripture, cross and Christ centred.
Our desire is to ‘make a positive difference’ to the lives of people of all backgrounds in and around Eastgate, Bourne and surrounding areas, as well as our church family, through a programme of outreach and activity provision.
To enable us to do this, we have a creative vision to re-order the inside of the chapel to allow for a dynamic and varied use of the building. The spacious rear hall provides plenty of opportunity to do this. Our plans include upgrading toilet facilities, creating a community café and dedicated kitchen area, meeting rooms, library and charity shop. We also wish to develop a hub for in-depth bible study and teaching. This is in addition to our existing, regular church services.
