Beach Ability - Mission Mablethorpe

We’ve launched our beach wheelchairs in Mablethorpe with support from Mablethorpe Town Council and Snack Shack Café. Now we’re raising funds for a permanent base with more chairs, hoisting and storage. Please help us make the beach accessible for all

Beach Ability Lincolnshire is a volunteer-led charity providing free beach wheelchairs and hoist, making the coast accessible for all. With hubs at Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards, and Sutton on Sea launching in 2026, your support helps us to continue to expand and keep this vital service running

Story

We’ve been asked time and time again to bring our beach wheelchair service to Mablethorpe—so let’s make it happen together!

Thanks to the incredible support of Mablethorpe Town Council and the Snack Shack Café, we’ve been able to get started quickly, with two beach wheelchairs already available for people to use and enjoy the seafront. But this is just the beginning.

With over 7 years’ experience making beaches accessible, and established bases at Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards (with more to come), we know what it takes to build a sustainable, inclusive service.

To create a long-term impact in Mablethorpe, we now need to establish a permanent base of our own. This will allow us to grow our service, offer a wider range of beach wheelchairs, provide hoisting facilities, ensure safe and secure storage, and build a dedicated volunteer team.

Our goal is simple: to remove barriers and make the beach accessible for everyone.

If you’d like to support us in making waves of change in Mablethorpe, please consider donating to this campaign. Every contribution helps us move closer to a more inclusive coastline.
