Story
The BDA was formed by Francis Maginn in Leeds as the British Deaf and Dumb Association (BDDA) on 24 July 1890.
132 years later, the BDA continues to advocate on behalf of the Deaf community and to protect, promote and preserve our beautiful British Sign Language.
Can you support the BDA's vital campaigning work by raising a special anniversary donation of £132?
How you get there is completely up to you! Run, walk or dance for 132 minutes, climb 132 steps, bake 132 biscuits, fingerspell the alphabet backwards 132 times, you decide!
Thank you! We are so grateful to each and every one of our members and supporters. We really couldnt do it without you.
Heres to another 132 years!
