Story
This year marks our 325th anniversary as a business. This September we are cycling 325 miles from London to Champagne, to help reach our goal of raising £325,000 for our charity partner My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
My Name'5 Doddie Foundation is an incredible foundation dedicated to funding research into Motor Neuron Disease (MND) and supporting people with the disease to live their best lives.
It’s going to be a grueling journey. It will take up to seven hours a day in the saddle to achieve the 80 mile-a-day target, over four consecutive days. And although we’ll have a handful of experienced riders on the team, most people taking part – including our Chair, Lizzy Rudd – are novice cyclists, training extremely hard in a bid to support those living with MND.

Davy Żyw
It’s a cause close to our hearts. In 2018 our friend and colleague Davy Żyw was diagnosed with MND, but he has defied the odds by surviving far beyond the two-year average life expectancy. All the while he’s been a source of incredible inspiration, tirelessly raising money and awareness through extraordinary physical feats which most people without the disease people will never accomplish.
In 2020 he was a recipient of a ‘Points of Light Award’ from the Prime Minister and received a commendation from Scotland’s (then) First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. In fact, his story is so astonishing that top cycling brand Rapha made a film about him called ‘DAVY'.
Davy himself said:
Unfortunately, I know firsthand what an incredibly cruel disease MND is, and although there is currently no cure, we are on the brink of a breakthrough. Every penny we raise, every pedal we push, will bring us closer to finding meaningful treatments and a cure.
MND effects one in 300 here in the U.K, half of people diagnosed die within 24 months, a third within one year. There is currently no cure. Although there is hope, there are promising clinical drug trails running across the country which are getting closer and closer to find a meaningful treatment, and a cure for this life stripping condition. The money we raise will enable My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to fund the right research, fast tracking progress and also help people with the disease live their best lives.
The London to Champagne bike ride is just one of many fundraising efforts we have planned – so keep an eye on the ‘News’ section for the latest updates.

So please, dig as deep as you can to sponsor our team so that we can reach this ambitious target and help free the world of this devastating disease.
