The mission of UW-Green Bay, Marinette Campus is to provide excellent and accessible education that prepares learners of all ages to lead and serve their communities.
Bayshore Arts Center compliments UW-Green Bay’s educational mission by providing community engagement opportunities in theater, music, and the arts for all. UW-Green Bay is proud to support these efforts on the Marinette Campus.
Since 1966, the Theatre on the Bay program has offered theatrical opportunities, both on and off stage, for adults 18 years and older. This program, existing uniquely as an artistic avenue for adults only, inspires community pride, inclusion and enrichment. What originated as an academic offering for students, has blossomed into a robust community theatre program that provides entertainment for all! Bayshore Arts Center drives economic activity in Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula while creating accessible, entertaining and inclusive programming for the surrounding communities.
Theatre on the Bay has maintained nearly 60 years of high-quality theatrical opportunities for adults in the Marinette, Menominee, Peshtigo and surrounding areas. The Herbert L. Williams Theatre and Nancy Gierke stage have presented hundreds of performances and served thousands of community members since 1966. The community is enriched by the legacy of Theatre on the Bay – a legacy that is founded in tradition, artistic expression and community wellness.
Your donation to the Theatre on the Bay program at Bayshore Arts Center will have a direct impact on artistic programs offered for adults over the age of 18 in the community. The need for artistic expression does not end when we out-grown the crayon box. Supporting the Theatre on the Bay program means supporting local theatre technicians, creators, designers and artists that seek outlets of expression in their home communities. An investment in this program encourages and allows these artists to grow, develop and showcase their skills at our community theatre.
Hundreds of performances, such as Bye Bye Birdie, The Sound of Music, Camelot, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, Chicago and The Wizards of Oz have entertained the community since 1966 – and all have featured casts of actors uniquely over the age of 18.
