Story
BASKET BRIGADE IS 21 years young!
We are Basket Brigade Notts; a 100% Volunteer run project, led by local social enterprise, Indigo Brave and supported by Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.
This year we are 21 years old! We have grown hugely since our first ever Basket Brigade in The Millennium Centre, St Ann’s. But we are still doing the same magic.
Each year we collect nominations from the community, for people who are in crisis or simply need a bit of extra love this Festive Season.
We collect gifts, food and festive treats, from local businesses and individuals - and then we wrap and pack like mad.
Through a network of local organisations and volunteers we then deliver a Festive Surprise - a beautiful hamper of food, plus personally selected gifts, and a handwritten greetings card.
These heartfelt gifts of hope and love show people that they are seen and cared for by their community. People have said it has given them hope to carry on!
With absolutely no paid staff, last year we packed and delivered over 255 luxury hampers!
HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US?
We would love it if you would join us to spread some very special festive cheer and real HOPE and LOVE in the true spirit of Christmas.
This could be by making a donation, helping us out on packing day - or both!
This year 'packing day' is on Friday 6th December and Saturday 7th December at The Iona School, Sneinton, Notts. For further information and to sign up visit the Facebook page @basketbrigadenottingham
A cash or gift donation of any size is always welcome.
This year:
£10 - Buys a voucher for a Young Carer to treat themselves with
£30 - Sponsors the purchase of food for each hamper, which we top up with gift and toy donations from the community
Don't forget to gift aid to your cash donation, if possible!
