Story
The British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES), the Royal Historical Society (RHS) ,the Past and Present Society (P&P), the Ecclesiastical History Society (EHS) and the German Historical Society (GHS) are offering funding towards three short-term fellowships at higher education institutions in the UK, European Union or elsewhere in continental Europe to provide a place of academic refuge for three scholars from Ukraine. Each grant is worth £5,000 (€6,000) and will be matched by equivalent funds or in-kind assistance from the host institution (for example, accommodation, meals, office space) of an equivalent financial sum.
Two grants will be reserved for colleagues undertaking historical research in the broadest sense;r one will be for any scholar in the field of Slavonic and East European studies; one in the field of the history of Christianity; and, one working on the history of Germany and the German-speaking world. Host institutions can offer these fellowships to PhD candidates, Early Career and established scholars.
The RHS, BASEES, P&P, EHS and GHS would like to offer further Fellowships and have also mounted this fundraising campaign in an endeavour to generate sufficient funds to do this. Donations of any size will be most welcome. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
