Story

Join us this year for Bart’s Bash 2024

14th – 15th September 2024

Bart’s Bash is the flagship fundraising and participation event for the Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF).

Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson was an Olympic Gold and Silver medallist who tragically passed away in 2013. Andrew passionately believed that everyone should have the opportunity to experience sailing and watersports, regardless of their background or circumstances.

The first Bart’s Bash took place in 2014. Thousands of people from around the world came together to race in memory of Bart. The event was such a success it was awarded a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest sailing race.

Bart’s Bash continues to connect the global sailing community, creating opportunities for people to get on the water and raise essential funds for the ASF. With your help, Bart’s Bash will continue to be a global event, enabling people to get out on the water and keeping Bart’s name alive for generations to come.

Together we can transform lives through sailing.

Supporting the Andrew Simpson Foundation

The Andrew Simpson Foundation (ASF) was inspired by Olympic Gold and Silver medallist Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson MBE. Our mission is to transform lives through sailing.

Absolutely everything we do is driven by our belief that all young people have the ability to excel and succeed in life and work. We run five not-for-profit centres across the UK, as well as a Performance Academy. Each Andrew Simpson Centre (ASC) runs charitable programmes which enable young people to experience sailing and watersports, gain accredited qualifications and develop life skills.

The money raised through Bart’s Bash helps to fund these charitable programmes and enables young people to access sailing and watersports, regardless of their background or ability.

You can also use Bart’s Bash to fundraise for your own club, venue or project. When you sign up to Bart’s Bash you will receive a full set of Bart’s Bash resources to help you organise your own event!
