The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
After the success of the inaugural Barry Island 10K last summer which saw nearly 100 Ty Hafan runners raising just over £10,000 we're very excited to be the lead charity partner for the second year running.
Whether youre a first time runner or seasoned pro, the Barry Island 10K is set to be an exciting event in a superb location. To mark our 20th year, the first 20 spaces are completing free and thereafter will be the discounted rate of £4.99 when pledging to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship which could pay for four hours of emotional support from a family support practitioner, helping families to deal with the daily challenges they face.
The 10K race takes place on fully closed roads with a challenging yet rewarding route showcasing all of the towns most scenic seaside spots and recognisable landmarks including Whitmore Bay, the Knap, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay

Sadly, thousands of families in Wales live every day knowing their child’s life will be short. At the moment, they often face this without any care or support. Alone. Afraid. Isolated. Tŷ Hafan’s ambition is that when a child’s life will be short, no family should have to live it on their own.
