Story
Deen Reliefs Bangladesh Water Aid Project aims to provide people living in some of the poorest areas in Bangladesh with clean, drinking water. Especially for these people, access to clean water is very difficult, many of whom are drinking impure water from rivers that contain lead and thus increase their chances of suffering from lead-poisoning. Even small amounts of lead can cause serious health problems. Children younger than 6 years are especially vulnerable to lead poisoning, which can severely affect mental and physical development yet many people there are unable to do anything about this. But you can.
Access to clean water has been a major issue in Bangladesh and in many other parts of the world. The Water Aid Project hopes to raise funds to build tube-wells in various areas of Bangladesh. Each well goes 460ft deep underground bypassing the lead-fill layer so that clean water can be pumped out. Each well costs £400 pounds to build and can provide for over 30 families (about an entire street in a village) throughout the day. Thousand of lives have been taken due to lead-poisoning and many other health conditions associated with drinking unclean water. Millions of lives more are at risk. When you fill your next glass up to drink, dont forget to reflect on this blessing that we overlook every day. We hope that you will be able to take help us create a lasting impact by donating towards building a well to provide for those suffering in Bangladesh. There are too many lives at risk, and they are counting on us.
