Story
The Library Aviation Fund was established to support student interest in aviation, to provide much-needed funding to employ flight simulator student assistants and to maintain the recently donated flight simulator.
The state-of-the-art simulator is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified advanced aviation training device, providing students, staff, faculty, and community members the hands-on opportunity to learn to fly. The flight simulator offers a highly realistic experience, with six screens and the ability to tilt and pitch. Take off from airports around the world and choose from multiple types of aircraft to fly.
Your gift will help the Library provide aviation-related jobs to students, giving them the experience and skills needed to be successful in aviation or any other career. Student employment offered in the Library gives students a sense of community on their academic journey, and they can share their knowledge with free workshops open to all. Contributions to the Library Aviation Fund will also help the Library cover the cost of routine maintenance and repairs so the simulator will remain in excellent condition for years to come.
With your support, we can ensure that Humboldt students and the community have access to cutting-edge flight training technology and training opportunities in aviation. Join us on this adventure in the virtual skies and make a gift today!
