Donate today to support older people in B&NES when they need it most.
This year we are raising our voices with a heart-felt plea to ask for your support to help those whose lives have been severely impacted by COVID-19. Older people have been amongst the hardest hit by this cruel virus and whilst we continue to manage many services, such as delivering home visits, hot meals, phone calls and advice to those suffering this pandemic, we must do much more.
Over Christmas, this included some much needed respite to Care Home residents as well as those who look after them. This pandemic has been particularly cruel for this already vulnerable group, lonely, depressed, scared, and for many months unable to receive visits from their loved ones. Our Singing Christmas Bus visited care homes with a professional singer to give residents and staff the festive fun and interaction they so desperately needed.
Mya 93 said: I remember these songs when I was a girl. I have been clapping and dancing, I wish you could come back every week
Sue, Care Home Manager said: Music is so important. It has been such a hard few months that it makes me emotional to see how overjoyed staff and residents are to have some singing. It sparks off memories in people and we can escape for a bit and remember the good times- before the pandemic.
We are now planning new opportunities for older people throughout Bath and North East Somerset to inspire and support them as restrictions ease this Spring. Please donate today and help us support older people in your local communities. Make sure they are not forgotten.
Thank you for your kindness .
