Story
"The Aspergers Syndrome Foundation was founded in 2002 by parents desperately seeking advice, guidance and support. The Foundations aims are dedicated to raising awareness, providing the latest research and running seminars with world leading experts in the field. Many people with Asperger's are excluded from a social life and depression can lead to loneliness and sometimes worse. We run a social club once a month for young adults for four hours providing a safe, non-judgemental environment where the focus is on social skills, mindfulness, health and well being. After 9 years we had our first engagement announced by a young couple who have been attending since its inception. All monies raised will go towards an overhaul of the website with new and current vetted links, research and information. We will also be able to continue running our helpline where enquiries are answered within 24 hours, and maintain the group activities. We will develop new age appropriate social opportunities. One to one help is offered where needed. Please support these young people who are eager to learn and play their part in society. Thank you"
