Story
Two nurses and one paramedic work at the Arnakot health post every day, treating 300 people a month for all their health needs. Although the health post closes at 4pm, the nurses, who are also trained midwives, work 24/7 to respond to emergencies including deliveries.
The current health post has only two rooms and no private space to accommodate women in labour. The planned extension includes a dedicated birthing suite that not only gives the women the privacy they need, but also provides a clean space and essential equipment to ensure deliveries are carried out as safely as possible.
