The Great London Bridges Walk 2024
This year, on Sunday 21st July, we’re walking 31 miles, crossing 26 bridges of the Thames. From Hampton Court to Tower Bridge, we aim to raise £110,000 to support the role of a clinical nurse specialist for two years to care for patients who are being treated for skin cancer at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).
A clinical nurse specialist plays a key role in offering support and guidance during the often stressful and uncertain waiting period for patients, their families, and caregivers, bridging the gap between diagnosis and treatment with compassion and empathy.

Why are we walking?
UCLH needs our help to support this service. And cancer, in all its unforgiving forms, has touched virtually everyone’s life in one way or another. So, in aid of UCLH’s official Charity, UCLH Charity, ARgENTUM and their friends will cross the bridges of the Thames to help bring care to those who need it as they cross bridges they least expected to…
We know this is a BIG ask, but the money we raise will help to care for many lives, and any support you give now will affect the experience of over 6,000 patients with cancer a year… We believe that if we can get enough of you to walk with the support of your family and friends, we will raise the money that UCLH needs to support the role of a clinical nurse specialist for two years.
For every donation over £10, ARgENTUM will send you something from their skincare or fragrance collection, subject to availability. Simply email giving@argentumapothecary.com with your donation receipt, and they will send you a unique code.

Working together
ARgENTUM & UCLH Charity have discovered a shared purpose: helping people heal. By working together, we believe we can increase support for patients undergoing skin cancer treatment at UCLH and those who care for them.
Our partnership has the potential to significantly impact the well-being of patients at various stages of their treatment journey. It also offers an opportunity to enhance the capability of the skin cancer team at UCLH. This improved capacity will alleviate pressure on the team and enable them to enhance the holistic care provided to patients during their skin cancer treatment at UCLH.
UCLH Charity is the official charity of University College London Hospitals. We are here to make a difference to patients, staff and research over and above what the NHS can realistically afford.
