Story
Too many people die alone, with no friends or family at their side.
Overstretched resources in care settings and the increasing number of deaths in the UK has led to severely compromised end of life care. The Covid-19 pandemic shone a spotlight on the numbers of people who spend their last days alone, without loved ones.
The Anne Robson Trusts vision is to ensure every person receives the compassion, comfort, and companionship they wish for at the end of their life.
We are the only national charity in the UK to specialise in providing emotional support to anyone with a terminal diagnosis, and those caring for them.
We ask for your help to achieve two goals:
1) Set up and support volunteer visitor teams at 3 new hospitals. In the next year we aim to support a total of 4,000 people over 10,000 volunteer visits.
2) Run an end-of-life helpline. In its first year of running, our helpline supported more than 220 people. We want to double that this year.
A hand to hold. A listening ear. The presence of another person. These simple things become invaluable in the final days and hours of life. We would value your support to help us provide compassion to more people in their final days and support those close to them as they prepare to lose someone they love.
