Story
Anne battled cancer for four years and was told that she had around three months to live just before Christmas 2022. She had been cared for at home throughout her illness by her husband Barry but became totally incapacitated during the month of February. Anne and Barry battled on at home but it soon became obvious that professional care was necessary. Anne was admitted to Willow Wood Hospice on 1st March 2023 and passed away on 7th March. The family were astonished at the high level of physical care and attention afforded to Anne and were amazed to discover that the Hospices survival relies almost entirely on voluntary donations.
It would be a devastating loss to the community if Willow Wood were to close its doors but sadly, this would be the case without your help. The chances are that we all know someone who has been cared for by Willow Wood when care was most needed and lets face it, it could be one of us who needs their care in the future so please, give generously.
