Love Support Unite empowers communities to become self-sufficient, with a leg-up rather than a hand-out. We create self-sufficiency and food security through funding integrated community-based projects based around education, nutrition, enterprise and healthcare.
LSU began out of the work of its sister charity, Tilinanu Orphanage. Founded by Mercy Mkandawire, Alice met Mercy volunteering in Malawi in 2009, and became Founder of the UK side of Tilinanu, helping to build a loving home for the girls. Nina, her sister, joined her in supporting Tilinanu, the same year. Through this work, they became aware of the urgent needs of wider communities in Malawi, and so, Love Support Unite was born.
Working on very little budget and resources, Nina and Alice built the charity from the ground up with the intention to empower communities sustainably and elevate them from poverty using their 360 holistic approach to development, Foundations For The Future, this is implemented by granting funds to Malawi based charities such as LSU Malawi, Tilinanu Orphan care, Africa Vision Malawi, Mphatso childrens foundation and Malawi Schools Permaculture.
We believe every child should have the right to an education. At Tilinanu UK we aim to provide funding for education, primarily for the girls formerly housed at Tilinanu Orphanage Malawi.
We believe that education is the key to change and are so proud to say Tilinanu is funding 32 girls through school, two girls at college, one young has graduated at university, and two more girls have university places now. This is huge! <3
The Love Support Unite team, donors, volunteers and ambassadors are all one family working together through connection, unity and shared vision to create an empowered future for Malawi.
We would love for you to join us!
