By no-roll, we mean Covid-19 has thrown us a gutter ball and we can't bowl in person. We can still have a good time, celebrate our previous 28 years and raise much-needed funds to keep our residents happy, healthy and safe. You can expect a blast from the past as we look back at some of our epic Angel Bowl events with all the unique themes and costumes.
With your help, we reached our Angel Bowl fundraising goal! We are so blessed to have had your support at a time when we couldnt host an in-person event. Thank you from all of us at Holy Angels.
You are making a difference in the lives of our residents and their families.
While it wasn't Liberty Lanes or the traditional Angel Bowl, our residents had the chance to bowl this past week here on campus.
Our angels tossed, dropped, threw or rolled a plastic, rubber or inflatable bowling ball down the makeshift alleys. Whether the ball knocked down one pin, or all of them, it accomplished the same thing: lots of smiles.
This Fun Friday activity was a perfect ending for our No-Roll Angel Bowl campaign. We all missed seeing everyone at Liberty Lanes for one long and exciting Saturday. In some ways, however, this year was even more powerful. We still saw our community of family, friends and supporters pivot with us as we rolled out the No-Roll campaign which still managed to raise much-needed funds for the organization.
As part of our 65th year anniversary, we set a goal of $65,000 for this campaign. We are SO very close to hitting that goal. We ask all of you to send out one last social media post, email or text asking family and friends to donate to your own fundraising page.
As we wind down March and the No-Roll Angel Bowl we want to thank each and every one of you who participated in some way.
We are very much looking forward to 2022 when we can celebrate the 30th annual Angel Bowl together!
Whether it was a plastic, rubber or inflatable ball,
All month long, we have celebrated the previous 28 years of the Angel Bowl. We called it the No-Roll Angel Bowl.
We all know it takes a special person with a big heart to work at Holy Angels. Many of our staff, including nurses and direct support professionals, not only give with their time, but their treasures as well. They're ambassadors and often help to fundraise for this mission of mercy.
"This is truly a mission of the heart, my heart," said Healthcare Technician Brenda Barker. "Every resident at Holy Angels has stolen my heart."
Those are the words Brenda wrote on her "No-Roll" Angel Bowl Just Giving page . She said she created the page because she believes in the mission, loves the residents and sees the ability to reach more people through social media and share the story of Holy Angels.
Brenda has worked at Holy Angels for more than 20 years and participated in 15 Angel Bowls!
"When someone donates to my page, it means they share in the love, dignity and respect of our residents," said Brenda.
Taylor Foulk came to her first Angel Bowl while she was in the Holy Angels Volunteen program. She started working here last fall and is now a development associate in the Foundation and has a $1,000 goal for her "No-Roll" Angel Bowl page.
"I know how important Angel Bowl is to our residents, staff and community," said Taylor. "This year, due to Covid, we were unable to host the event in person, so creating awareness on social platforms is needed now more than ever."
Brenda and Taylor are not alone. A majority of the fundraising pages for the "No-Roll" Angel Bowl are staff members. Another sign that this is not just a job for this family, rather a mission.

For 22 years, Cheryl and her family have raised money at Angel Bowl. They primarily send out letters and emails to family and friends who kindly support their efforts.
"I've always met my goal. Always," exclaimed Cheryl.
Despite not being about to actually bowl in person this year, Cheryl is still excited.
"I'm still happy we can do the No Roll Angel Bowl and raise money to help Holy Angels," said Cheryl.
It truly is a family affair. Cheryls parents, sister, brother-in-law all help to support her and Holy Angels. Cheryl adds a personal touch by writing a personalized thank you card to each and every donor.
Over the two decades-plus of raising money at the Angel Bowl, it's estimated Cheryl and her family have raised around $100,000. A large number that shocked Cheryl when we added it up.
"Wow, that's a surprise! That's pretty impressive. I'm very proud," Cheryl said.
Not only is Cheryl a "kingpin" in terms of fundraising, but down the alley as well. She says she boasts an average score of around 200 a game!
She admits she is a "tiny" bit competitive and always wants to be the top fundraiser. Through the first few days of the "No-Roll" Angel Bowl, you can find Cheryl where she typically is, on top of the fundraising leaderboard.
