Andrea Nevins has been the heart and the hearth of The X Fund since its inception.

As a founding member, Andrea helped shape The X Fund mission, and our spirit — believing in the power of community to drive meaningful change, especially when it uplifts voices and communities that are too often overlooked.

Andrea always showed up. And she came with empathy, insight, and a deep commitment to justice. She would organize us, host us, feed us and volunteer her beautiful family who came with her same grace and willingness to give and be of service. The Nevins family led by Andrea always showed up for The X Fund.

Andrea is more than a filmmaker and advocate — She’s a gatherer of people and ideas. A connector of hearts. A deep listener. A brilliant presence whose empathy, passion, and effortless style inspire everyone around her. Her deep integrity is felt in every aspect of The X Fund — from the grantees we support to the values we hold close.

Andrea believed that, through her work with The X Fund and beyond, we should - and can - create a more equitable world. The X Fund will carry on its work in Andrea’s honor.
