More About the Project

Austin is in an affordable housing crisis. Hardworking members of our community are being forced out of Central Texas due to rising costs. More than half of low-income local residents are cost-burdened, paying at least 30% of their monthly income for housing. Anderson High School Community is taking action in partnering with Austin Habitat for Humanity to help build an affordable home for a local family.

The benefits of homeownership are immense. Affordable homeownership helps to alleviate the cost burden of housing and raises the educational achievement of children, improves health, encourages greater civic engagement and generates significant economic activity. Your support will help to make the dream of homeownership a reality for a family in our community who otherwise thought this would not be achievable.
