On Your Marks, Get Set...
On 26th - 27th March we are inviting individuals and teams from around the world to join with runners in Palestine to run 750km - the length of the Separation Wall. Participants will be running 5, 10, 21 or 42km.
At 10:00am GMT on Saturday 27th March we will all join runners from palestine for a countdown on Zoom then everyone from around the world will set off on their runs. Those that cannot join us at 10:00am GMT will be running at a time that suits them to make sure we cover the 750km distance.
Why are we running the Wall?
Home demolitions, land confiscations, illegal settlements, the Separation Wall... this is how Israel is annexing Palestine. Actions speak louder than words.
We are running to raise awareness of the human cost of the Wall, to demand freedom of movement for Palestinians and to help raise £15,000 to rebuild a Palestinian home.
Every year Amos Trust takes a team of runners to take part in the Palestine marathon which would normally take place in Bethlehem at the end of March but this year, for obvious reasons, it will not be happening. However, Palestinians still need their freedom and their right to movement so we will be running in solidarity with those living under the shadow of the Wall and suffering from its presence.
Where will the money go?
The money raised will help rebuild a Palestinian home demolished by Israeli Defence Forces. We are aiming to raise £15,000 (£20 per kilometre).
