Story

How can you get involved in the Spring Challenge?

Run, jog or walk a Spring 5k or 10k (in-person or virtually)

You can search for an in-person race and sign up directly on the registration page: https://runforcharity.com/alcohol-change-uk-/soberspring. Entries are free and we ask you to aim to raise £50 for a 5k or £100 for a 10k. Alternatively you can run your own 5k or 10k virtually whenever you like and setting your own fundraising target. Once you complete your virtual run let us know and we’ll send you a special virtual medal to celebrate your achievement. Whichever way you take part you can set up a JustGiving fundraising page via this campaign page.

Buy the ‘Sober Spring’ t-shirt

Designed by Clean Clothes Inc. the Sober Spring t-shirt is an exciting, unique and exclusive design just for us. The t-shirt is available from 1 March and throughout Sober Spring. We’re delighted that 100% of the t-shirt sales profit be donated to Alcohol Change UK. Read more about the partnership and buy the t-shirt: https://cleanclothesinc.com/

Have a spring clean!

It’s that time of the year to have a clear out so why not support Alcohol Change UK at the same time. You can sell your unwanted items on Vinted, eBay or Facebook Marketplace and donate the money what you make on this JustGiving campaign page.

Do Your Own Thing

If you have an idea of something you’d like to do, go for it! It could be big or small, but whatever it is we’d love to hear more about it and support you to achieve it. Once you’ve planned out your activity you can set up a JustGiving fundraising page via this campaign page.

Collections

Bucket collections are a great way to raise money and engage the public about alcohol harm. You can organise your own at a supermarket, train station or a tube station with permission from venue management or get a local council license for a street collection (we can provide you with the branded buckets!). We’ll also be organising some bucket collections during Sober Spring and we need a list of willing volunteers to come and help.

Make a donation

If you’d like to make a donation to Alcohol Change UK, rather than taking part in an activity, we would really appreciate your support. You can make your donation on this page.

How your fundraising/donations can help:

* A donation of £20 could support around 20 people reduce their drinking through Dry January®.

* £30 could help us develop and deliver more training for front line workers and improve support for dependent drinkers.

* £40 could cover the costs of supporting 16 people for six months to reduce their drinking through our Try Dry® app.

How to get involved:

If you would like to find out more information about joining the Spring Challenge in support of Alcohol Change UK please email our team at fundraising@alcoholchange.org.uk or call us on 020 3907 8480. The team will be able answer queries and provide you with lots of fundraising tips and materials, and be there to support you throughout Sober Spring.
