The basic building blocks to provide self-care facilities and improve hygiene & wellbeing in the camp
Our programmes main objective is the welfare, wellbeing and advancement, for the children we see. To take a positive lead in the campaign for the welfare and the betterment of displaced children in camps in South Sudan.
This Christmas we would like to take this opportunity to fundraise for what we consider basic building blocks.
Recent flooding damaged our compound, our self-care facilities in the camp are destroyed beyond repair, over 700 children from our programme are now without basic facilities.
There is a shortage of essential hygiene facilities, down to even the most rudimentary toilets and washing units. It is no surprise therefore that Gastrointestinal related illness are widespread throughout the camp, as well as Malarial outbreaks connected to un-drained polluted waste water.
We want to see our camp as a child-safe and friendly environment as possible. Where children can have access to clean water, self-care facilities and can learn about hygiene.
Our aim is to provide male and female sanitation blocks. Especially for the girls, this will enable them to have a safe place to wash and change, encourage the number of girls to take part in the sports and education programmes at the camp. a water tank to capture and store water for the facilities and Septic Tank & Soak pit for efficient processing system for discharging waste water.
a storage room, plus a hall to serve as a meeting room and sports activities space is also needed
Please could you consider donating for the construction of these basic buildings which will provide self-care facilities to improve hygiene in the camp
Help over 700 children avoid illness associated with poor hygiene and sanitation.
We are planning on having the new building by March 2020. To raise the funds, we will be holding many fundraising events such as raffles, bake sales, sponsor walks and we would be applying for some grant fund to help us reach our target, if you can spare a little cash. We would be very grateful for your donation as every little help.
