Story
All of us have personally seen and felt the impact of Covid-19 on our own lives, and if we're truthful, we'll admit to feelings of fear, stress, concern and even panic at times. But imagine a world were you can't see your family, you are unable to go to the shops or attend a weekly class that you enjoy.
This is the situation that many of our older population are living in and to compound the problem, the rural geography of Northumberland makes the provision of aid and support difficult, time consuming and expensive.
At Age UK Northumberland, we are working hard to be there for as many older people as we can, every day providing house calls, delivering essential supplies and offering friendship and support to people across the county.
Our Information and Advice and Advocacy teams are providing valuable support and advice, helping people to access essential food and necessities, providing financial advice and guidance and helping people to ensure that their personal wishes are made clear should it be needed.
This is a very difficult time for all of us, but for our vulnerable and at risk, the thought of being housebound and alone must be terrifying. Whether you can leave £1 or £1,000 your donation will make a difference to an older person needing help.
