Story
Befriending Service
We offer a free befriending service to lonely or isolated people aged over 55 or above living in Milton Keynes.
We aim to provide a carefully matched volunteer befriender who will normally visit at least once a week.
Our befrienders offer a kind, empathic listening ear and may be able to provide details of other services that may be helpful. Older people who are vulnerable or nervous of socialising very much appreciate the opportunity for a chat with a friendly, caring person.

Maryanne
I've been chatting with Isobel for several weeks now, phoning her every Tuesday afternoon for hour or so long chats. We get on really well and talk about just anything! Isobel is such a lovely interesting woman, full of stories. This week she told me "I don't feel invisible any more, knowing that people care is really comforting." Isn't that wonderful to hear?
To be considered for the service individuals must be:
⚆ Aged 55 or older living in Milton Keynes
⚆ Live alone

⚆ Do not attend other activities, e.g. day centres, community classes
