Story
2020 has been a hard year for older people in Camden. Many have been cut off from family and friends, isolated at home and often living in fear of catching Covid-19 every time they leave their home. This has had a huge impact on their health and wellbeing. Whilst Age UK Camden has been there supporting them the whole time it has also been a tough year for the charity. We have experienced a surge in demand for our services and at the same time facing a prolonged drop in income due to the pandemic and ongoing risk of Covid19. Despite this, we are more passionate and committed than ever in supporting the many older people in our community who need our help.
These are very tough times for everyone, especially older people for whom the illness can be very serious indeed. I am really impressed by the way Age UK Camden is rising to the challenge, making sure they continue to support the vulnerable older people who need them most. But the charity urgently needs help to continue this crucial work, now that so much traditional fund-raising has become impossible. All donations will be used to help keep older people as cheerful, connected and mentally and physically fit as possible, at a time when so many of them feel lonely, isolated, and vulnerable.
