Story

Update:

We would like to send a heartfelt thankyou to everyone who contributed to the creation of Sunny Banks Garden.

The garden is continuing to flourish and the people we support in our Beacon Day Centre are happy spending time in the garden, as well as enjoying homecooked meals containing fruits and vegetables picked from the garden.

Gardens require continuous love and attention to keep them flourishing, and as we plan for the upcoming seasons and begin sourcing a selection of winter bedding plants, vegetables, spring bulbs and plants, we truly appreciate your continued support in making this happen and improving the lives of people affected by dementia.

End of update

It’s been years in the making, although we are now in the final stages of completing our interactive, outdoor space at our Safeharbour Memory Wellbeing Centre.

The sensory garden is designed to enhance the lives of individuals living with dementia.

People affected by dementia are at the heart of everything we do and are encouraged to be involved with our services at all levels.

Delivering the fun and engaging social activities that the people we support have come to depend on and find extremely rewarding comes at a huge cost. However, with your help, we can continue to expand our services and provide vital support to those who need it most.

We are asking if you can help us to complete the final phase of our sensory garden by donating today. Any donations received above our campaign target will be used to support the garden project and initiatives.

Coming here has completely changed my life. I used to sit indoors and get fed up, take myself off to bed. This has given me something to look forward to.

Please help our sensory garden continue to flourish and support people affected by dementia with a gift today.
