This year, school looks a little different. Remote learning presents unique challenges, especially for students who are just learning how to read and write. We are rising to those challenges, and we invite you to rise with us!

Achieve Now is working with teachers and families to provide virtual, one-on-one literacy coaching to first- and second-grade students in Philadelphia. Our students historically see an average gain of three grade levels in their reading scores by the end of the year, and we need that gain now more than ever!

We started our coaching sessions in mid-October, and the early feedback has confirmed what we already know: that students crave the individual attention and support that they get from our one-on-one coaching model and that learning to read can be fun!

At the beginning of her first session, one Achieve Now first grader told us how much having a reading coach means to her:
