Story
Join Spin 1038's Fully Charged presenters, Graham O'Toole and Nathan O'Reilly, in taking on the Abseil Challenge for Children's Health Foundation on 23rd and 25th September 2021 at Croke Park to help raise vital funds for Irelands sick children in CHI hospitals and urgent care centres.
Supporters will descend off the iconic Hogan Stand behind the large screen to abseil down 100 feet to pitchside.
Funds raised from the Abseil challenge will support the work with sick children in CHI at Connolly, Crumlin, Tallaght and Temple Street. Each day across CHI hospitals and urgent care centres, thousands of sick children and their worried parents are coming through the doors in need of world-class paediatric care and treatment. The funds raised ensure that the hospitals have state-of-the-art equipment for operations, pain and fluid pumps that provide medication and comfort during a childs stay in hospital. They fund equipment that provides fast test results and diagnoses, multi-sensory equipment that creates a warm, engaging and child-centred environment and so much more.
Children's Health Foundation hopes to raise 100,000 from the challenge this year to support these vital services. Spaces are limited with a registration fee of 100 to secure a place. In addition, Children's Health Foundation ask that a minimum of 350 be raised per person so that together we can ensure that children continue to have access to the best facilities, services, and equipment when they need it most. This is the power of your support.
Denise Fitzgerald, Chief Executive, Children's Health Foundation; "The Children's Health Foundation Abseil Challenge is a fun and exciting day out with friends, family or colleagues where you'll get a view with a difference from the top of the Hogan Stand. We have an ambitious goal to raise 80,000 from the challenge this year and these funds will be put to work where they are most needed to help sick children and their families. We would like to say a big thanks to Spin 1038's Nathan and Graham for helping us launch this challenge and we hope you'll join us on the day.
Graham O'Toole, presenter of Spin 1038's Fully charged said "We can't wait to get involved in the abseil challenge for such a great cause. I just hope that the seagulls have a day off and they don't get attracted to me while I'm abseiling. Maybe Nathan can hold a French baguette on the pitch to distract them as I make my descent."
