Story

Over 30% of children and young people experienced bullying in the last year. With nearly one child in every classroom experiencing bullying every day. Bullying significantly impacts a child's life and their experience of adulthood. Adults who were bullied as a child are more likely to:

- Experience a range of mental health issues

- Leave school with no qualifications

- Not be in stable relationships

At the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) we work to make sure that no child in the classroom gets left behind. We are a coalition of organisations and individuals with a shared vision to unite against bullying and create environments where children feel safe to be themselves without fear of bullying. ABA is part of the National Children's Bureau (NCB), a leading charity driving change across society so that all children grow up safe, secure, and supported.

In the last year, we have provided CPD training to over 20,000 participants and Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day reached over 7 million young people. We've achieved so much but there is still a long way to go.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance is supported by a small team of staff. We need your help to:

- raise awareness of all forms of bullying and make sure children and young people know where to get support;

- give teachers the training and tools they need to stop bullying;

- give parents and carers the information they need to support children and take action to stop bullying and,

- influence and improve national policy on bullying so that the UK is a world leader in preventing bullying.

Every November we coordinate Anti-Bullying Week, which raises awareness of bullying in children and young people. Odd Socks Day kicks off the Anti-Bullying Week and is fronted by the Anti-Bullying Alliance patron and CBeebies presenter, Andy Day and his band Andy and the Odd Socks. We encourage millions of children and adults go to school or work in odd socks day to highlight what makes us all unique and help prevent bullying.

This year Anti-Bullying Week is happening on Monday 11th - Friday 15th November and we would love for you to get involved!

Donate today to make a difference and help us to stop bullying for good.
