Story
The humanitarian crisis in the Middle East is devastating lives.
Millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care.
As the winter sets in, those displaced will be exposed to freezing conditions, with children among the most affected.
In Lebanon, more than a million people have had to leave their homes in recent weeks. Shelters are overwhelmed, and hospitals are struggling to treat the thousands of people injured.
In Gaza more than 42,000 people have been killed, with 90% of the population having been displaced, facing a situation where food and clean water are desperately scarce.
Women and girls are bearing the brunt of this crisis. Living in tents and makeshift shelters, they face an increased risk of sexual violence, trafficking and abuse.
ActionAid and other DEC member charities are responding right now in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank, providing lifesaving food, water, shelter, medicine and so much more.
But we urgently need more funds to meet the huge levels of need. By fundraising today we can act now to save lives.
What is ActionAid doing to help?
ActionAid is working with local partners in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.
In Gaza, we have reached over 236,960 people with humanitarian supplies. An additional 558,206 people have also been supported with healthcare services by our partner Al-Awda Hospital.
We have also been supporting internally displaced people in Gaza. We've distributed winterisation kits which include tents and blankets, and also dignity kits which include vital items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, and towels.
In Lebanon, ActionAid is responding in Bekaa, Beirut, and northern regions, focusing on emergency shelters and immediate needs like mattresses, hygiene kits, blankets, food parcels, and water.
