Arkledun Welcome Baskets for Women

Support women moving from shelter into new housing units by providing a welcome basket. Each basket contains cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items and household basics.

Story

This spring, Good Shepherd will open Arkledun: 73 housing units with supports for women, transgender, non-binary and two-spirit community members who are experiencing homelessness due to challenges such as physical and/or mental illness, addiction, poverty and social isolation. This project is a crucial response to the urgent need for housing in our community.

On-site services and supports will help residents achieve enhanced health and well-being, pursue their personal goals and build community. Our team will support residents in assessing areas of risk in their lives and developing personal safety plans.

We wish to provide each resident with a welcome basket on the day they move in. These baskets will contain cleaning products, personal hygiene items and household basics to help set up their new housing unit. We need your support to make this possible.
