Our charity aims to provide water activities to young people within Lancashire, from disadvantaged / challenging backgrounds, affordably. Our activities are entirely staffed by dedicated and committed volunteers.
Waterdays is our annual flag-ship event. Hosted on Coniston Lake, we facilitate 300 young people from diverse backgrounds, over two days, to partake in a variety of different water-sports. Such as: stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, and keel-boating. Again, entirely staffed by volunteers.
Our event must remain sustainable and affordable for the young people that engage in our activities. The costs of delivering this event are increasing and we are looking to new ways of offsetting those costs and to reduce our entry price for young people, and the expected contributions of our volunteers (food, accommodation etc.).
- Keep our participation price low.
- Fund a coach to support attendance of young people from deprived areas of our community.
- Subsidise our volunteer contributions.
