Story
PiP's Travel Training programme supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to build their confidence & develop important skills to be able to travel independently.
How to get involved:
- Walk! Every step counts, so even a short daily walk will help us reach our target - remember to log how far you've walked. If you have a Strava account, follow PiP so we can see your activity and cheer you on! https://www.strava.com/clubs/920909
- Join us at our themed online Makaton event on Friday 28th May at 1pm. Sign up here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/pip-2021-virtual-volunteering-events-tickets-133113820019?aff=ebdsoporgprofile
- Donate! £25 will fund a student's first Travel Training session, kick starting their learning on how to travel on their own to college, their favourite park, or to PiP!
From all of us at PiP - thank you for your support!
Updates from PiP:
We did it! We're thrilled to announce that we've reached our walking target - 5000 miles! This was a huge joint effort, and we appreciate PiP students, staff and our supporters for counting for every step to help us reach our goal. If you'd like to donate, there's still time!
This week PiP Trustee Judy joined our cultural studies group and was a fountain of knowledge explaining all about local blue plaques. Thank you Judy!
Join us tomorrow at 1pm on Zoom for our themed Makaton event! Learn-alongside our students and celebrate all things walking as we learn signs about the great outdoors!

We're half way through our challenge! This week our students braved the rain to explore our local parks and made some new furry friends!
We're 11 days into our big challenge and with the help of our supporters, we've walked 638 miles! A big thank you everyone who has donated so far and has registered their miles with us. Every step counts! Here are some of our students modelling their new pedometers and who have joined our new weekly walking group.
